Dr. Richard Carlson has been a trusted name in dental excellence in the Jacksonville area for over 25 years. He is a gentle, caring dentist who prides himself in keeping current with the most recent studies of not just what is new in dentistry, but rather the most predictable and long-lasting techniques and materials for lifelike results.  He practices comfortable, health-centered dentistry with a strong emphasis on getting to know each patient. Unlike other dental practices, Dr. Carlson does not believe in sending his lab work overseas (to places like China). He has been working with the same local dental lab right here in Jacksonville for over 25 years.

He attended Marshall University in West Virginia on academic and swimming scholarships, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. He received his doctorate at the University of Florida Dental School. He furthered his dental studies at the University of Texas in their hospital-based General Practice Residency Program. Less than 10% of all dentists nationwide have completed such a rigorous training program! He also taught at the University of Florida’s Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency Program here in Jacksonville for the last 7 years. He lectured on various advanced topics such as cosmetic dentistry and complicated treatment planning.
